Tarrant County College Center of Excellence for Energy Technology partnered with WHVACR to host the “Women in HVACR 14th Annual Conference” which our team recently attended.

TCC is located in Fort Worth, Texas, the new center is an eco-friendly 87,000-square-foot facility and is the largest of its kind in the nation.  Center of Excellence for Energy Technology is designed to train the new generation of workers for the oil and gas, renewable energy, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration industry.

TCC’s Center of Excellence for Energy Technology staff gave us a tour of the facility. During the tour we got to see an innovative building that use the technology to create an engaging and interactive learning environment for students.  Plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural components are openly visible in strategic locations.  Pipes, duct work and other equipment are labeled, color-coded by function and totally exposed giving students and visitors the opportunity to learn from the building systems. The open ceilings and see-through walls, the visual access to the mechanical rooms definitely help students to see how the systems fit together.

The HVAC industry is experiencing a growing trend, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that demand for HVAC technicians is expected to increase 10-15 percent annually over the next 15 years, resulting in a need to train new HVAC specialists nationally to keep pace with demand.

HVAC Industries provides internship opportunities to talented people to gain experience in the HVAC industry. We believe that education is a foundation for opportunity, growth, and success in individual lives and company successes. Our reputation for outstanding service continues to fuel our success, so we are always on the lookout for new dynamic, skilled team members.
